Kellogg’s has doing a recall on 28 million boxes of Honey Smacks, Fruit Loops, Corn Pops, and Apple Jacks cereal which was distributed nationwide, including to Tennessee. Stores shipped the affected product have been notified, and are removing the product from their shelves.
The product is being recalled because the company “identified a substance in the package liners that can produce an uncharacteristic waxy-like off taste and smell.” Consumers should not eat the affected product, and should either return it to the store immediately or contact the Kellogg Consumer Response Center at 888-801-4163.
The product affected has the code “KN” before the “better if used by” date on the package. Other codes, including “KM,” are not part of the recall and are okay to consume
