Airdrie: A 41-year-old woman, Jeannie Smith lived in Oronsay Road, on Saturday 31 October died due to disturbance involving about 20 people in Oronsay Road in Airdrie.

A 16-year-old boy has been held in custody following the death of woman and injured in the disturbance. He will be appear on court  on Monday by local police.

Two other youths, aged 17 and 14, have also been reported to be involve in connection with the incident.

The trouble started in a park area in Airdrie’s Calderglen Court and spread into Oronsay Road.

She was rushed to local Monklands General Hospital but unfortunately she died.
