Almorn Updyke who has been linked to a call to a radio station where the caller confessed to poisoning the trees.
He was being held on a felony first-degree criminal mischief charge on $50,000 bond.

Aretha Franklin has incurable pancreatic cancer a magazine claimed last week. After canceling her concerts through May 2011 for “medical reasons,” Aretha was hospitalized last week, with no reason given at the time. She underwent surgery, which was then called a success.

“It’s a grim diagnosis,” Dr. H. Leon Pachter, chairman of surgery at New York University, tells “Overall, the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer patients is 35 percent.”

A family insider told the station that she’s doing, “OK,” but they ask for the public’s prayers.

Despite the wide spread criticism over its timing and location fox News host Glenn Beck is planning a large rally. The Event will be held on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

The rally will be held on the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, which was given in the same location 47 years ago.

More than 100,000 peoples are expected to gather Beck’s “Restoring America rally, according to estimates from the National Park Service.

Manhunt for Killer of Dashawn Longfellow

BANGKOK — Police official had issued an arrest warrant for a British kickboxer in Thailand suspected of stabbing a US Marine to death on the resort island of Phuket.

Police have started a manhunt for Thai resident Lee Aldhouse, 28,who was suspected over the killing of Dashawn Longfellow, 23, at a hotel early Saturday, hours after both reportedly had a fight in a bar.

Both men are believed to have trained in Muay Thai kickboxing. Longfellow was in Phuket after sustaining a combat injury in Afghanistan, according to local media reports.

Tropical Storm Colin forms in the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Colin is heading rapidly towords the Atlantic but early forecasts put it on a track off the U.S. Atlantic seaboard rather than into the Gulf of Mexico, where BP is working to finally plug its blown-out oil well.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm has maximum sustained winds near 40 mph (65 kph) Tuesday and some slow strengthening is expected.

Colin is located about 840 miles (1,355 kilometers) east-southeast of the Leeward Islands and is moving west near 24 mph (39 kph).

Colin is the third tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.

NASCAR team owner Jack Roush survived his second plane crash Tuesday night in a private jet accident in Wisconsin.
In a statement on the EAA Web site, officials said a Beechcraft Premier business jet registered to Roush Fenway Racing, LLC was involved in a landing accident at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh
“There are injuries. Possible surgery,” Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith said in a text message to The Associated Press. “But he walked out of the plane.”
The NTSB is conducting the investigation into the accident

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Hope faded for finding two tour boat passengers alive Thursday, a day after the amphibious craft they were riding in was struck and sunk by a barge in the Delaware River, spilling them and other passengers into the murky waters, searchers said.

A search for the missing duck boat passengers resumed in the morning near Philadelphia’s Penn’s Landing, with boats searching the surface and using sonar, but conditions were too dangerous to send divers underwater Thursday.
