Chief Lankan Army Gen Fonseka may run for President

Colombo: Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff Sarath Fonseka resigns from his post, as reports he tipped to be the opposition candidate  for the presidential elections against President Mahinda Rajapaksa.CA0UBTTS

He was the architect of the military offensive that cause the demolition of LTTE, as army offensive  was over he was promoted  chief of defence staff from the army chief post. Sri Lanka is set for presidential and parliamentary elections before April 2010.

Fonseka may be elected for presidential post as alliance of opposition parties widely supporting him.
