ORLANDO, FL -A 40 year old female trainer at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, was killed by a killer whale Wednesday afternoon, According to sources. The attack occurred in the park’s Shamu Stadium.
This incident may affect future involvement of trainers with the huge creatures like whales and sharks. Name of the trainer still not released.
It’s also said that there is some confusion about the incident because initial report says the woman died by falling into the water tank but on the other hand it’s also said that the whale took the trainer in its mouth and then threw her out of the tank.
The woman trainer who was killed in the incident was one of the most experienced trainers. Another report says that an eye witness claimed that the animal leapt out of the water to grab her in its mouth and later SeaWorld executive Chuck Tompkins confirmed it.
According to The Associated Press, It is not the first time the 30-year-old Tilikum has been linked with such incident, in 1999 a body of a man named Daniel Dukes, 27, found bruised, scratched and draped over 5-ton Tilikum.
