Mahinda Rajapaksa wins Presidential Poll in Sri Lanka

Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa won presidential election in Sri Lanka against his rival,former Army Chief General Sarath Fonseka.

Rajapaksa is elected second time as a president of  Sri Lanka.he managed to get 60% of the vote while Fonseka had 40% of the vote.

It was first election in Sri Lanka after wiping out the 26 years old battle between Sri Lankan forces and Tamil tigers(LTTE ).

According to reports over 200 army personal gathered around the  five-star hotel in Colombo in which Fonseka was staying. Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakakra denied any attempt of former General.
