Mumbai: The Maharashtra Assembly faced ugly scenes when elected MLAs of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray(MNS Chief) attacked Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi for taking the oath of secrecy and office in Hindi.

MNS chief warned all 288  elected MLA’s to take oath in Marathi language only but Abu Azami had refused and stating that it was a his right to take oath in the national language.

Marshalls had to be called in to handle the situation as legislators of other parties and Speaker Ganpatrao Deshmukh failed to defuse the situation.

Later assembly was adjourned for some time.

Azmi called on the state police to arrest Raj Thackeray’s legislators, saying he cannot tolerate the insult of the nation, its language and Constitution.
