Fernando Verdasco of Spain and American Andy Roddick advanced with quarterfinal wins Friday at the $600,000 SAP Open.
Top-seeded Andy Roddick clinched victory against No. 5 seed Tomas Berdych in San Jose.He edged Berdych 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) to reach the SAP Open semifinals for the seventh consecutive year and eighth time overall.
Verdasco win against qualifier Ricardas Berankis 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), and will meet Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin in the semis.
The 2010 San Jose winner will collect $90,925.
