Melbourne: World No. 1 Roger Federer has beaten Andy Murray and clinch fourth Australian Open title. He continued his winning streak by beating Andy Murray in straight sets – 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.
Murray was riding the hopes of a British public, most of whom have only read about the last British man to win a singles Grand Slam title Fred Perry in 1936.
Murray was failed to give any challenge to Federer. Only last set witnessed some tough competition. The match took two hours and 41 minutes.
Murray and Federer last met in a Grand Slam final in the 2008 U.S. Open, where Federer won 6-2, 7-5, 6-2.
