Salma Hayek unexpectedly reacted and jumped out of her seat when she saw the serpent on the set while taping an interview with ‘Extra’ to promote the film during her interview with fellow actresses Maya Rudolph and Mario Bello.

Hayek’s reaction was surprising as she’s been with snakes before. She broke into the entertainment business with a sexy snake dance in the 1996 film “From Dusk Til Dawn“.

A frightened Hayek was then whisked away by a member of the production team before she left the set altogether. “Thank you so much,” she said, her voice trembling. Talking about the incident Bello said, “It was like a python. It was thick. Its head was like this – like a cobra! She’s (Hayek) split. She’s on the next plane.”

Hayek was the first Mexican national to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Also, she is the second of three Latin American actresses to achieve a Best Actress Oscar nomination, after Fernanda Montenegro and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
