Mumbai : Shiv sainiks were held for demonstrations outside theatres in eastern suburbs against Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘My Name is Khan.’ 46 protesters arrested were arrested by police.
The Shiv Sainiks resorted to violence in Mulund, Ghatkopar and several other areas inMumbai. The Mumbai police have been put on high alert following the violence.
The Sena had threatened to stall the screening of the film, protesting Khan’s support for inclusion of Pakistani players in the upcoming IPL but party supremo Bal Thackeray later said that the film’s release will not be disrupted
Earlier , Film Producer Karan Johar with distributors met Mumbai Police Commissioner to discuss about the security situation ahead of the release of his movie. Five companies of State Reserve Police have been called to Mumbai to tackle Shiv Sena.
