Mumbai: Shiv Sena’s Corporator Shraddha Jadhav beaten her congress rival Presila Kadam and has been elected for the Mayor of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of Mumbai, a capital of Maharashtra State.
MNS and Samajwadi Party remain abstained from voting, in the 228-member house of BMC, UPA allies Congress holds 77 members, NCP has 14 member and RPI has 3 Corporators while NDA allies BJP has 29 members and Shiv Sena has 81 Corporators.
Shiv Sena Corporator Shraddha Jadhav has received 114 votes, while her opponent resila Kadam get 96 votes. This victory gave Shiv Sena a major boost after a poor performance in the state Assembly elections.
