The Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin UFC 111 fight was shown on video feeds through pay per view last night showing these 2 heavyweight MMA challengers fight for the interin championship.  The Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin UFC 111 video showed a quick ending to the much anticipated fight.

The fight started as  both men moving around the Octagon waiting for the each other to engage.  After about 30 seconds, Mir throws a combination of punches and Carwin wraps him up pushing him to the cage.  Both fighters end up pressed against the cage in a clinch. Carwin punches Mir several times with right hands and goes for a single leg takedown.  The men are vying for position and the referee steps in to break the hold.

The fight is restarted in the middle by the referee and both fighters exchange punches and they clinch by the cage again.  Carwin throws a series of short left punches which hit Mir who falls to the mat.  Carwin jumps on top immediately to take advantage of the position.

Mir tries to roll out but is being hit repeatedly by Carwin.  Mir flattens out with Carwin on top and the referee stops the action in the first round.

Carwin now will face champ Brock Lesnar for the ‘real’ heacyweight title.
